Maths

Year 7

Our Year 7 students will follow the first year of a two year scheme of work specifically designed to build on work done at KS2. Each topic is assessed at the end of the unit. Students will sit a modified GCSE paper at the end of each term and the end of unit tests and modified GCSE paper will be used to inform their grade cards.

Homework is set weekly – sometimes written homework and other times using Hegarty maths. Students also have unlimited access to Hegarty maths to support their independent learning. All students have a password to access this resource

Year 9

Our Year 9 students follow the AQA GCSE scheme of work at either Foundation or Higher level depending upon their ability. Students will sit a GCSE paper at the end of each term which, with topics assessed in class, will inform their report card.

Homework is set weekly and will be largely based around Hegarty Maths, an outstanding online resource. Students should make careful notes in their books as well as answer questions on set topics. Hegarty Maths can also be used for independent revision.
