Learning Resource Centre
Situated in the heart of Hampton Gardens School, the Learning Resource Centre boasts a large, light and open space with an amazing panoramic view. Easily accessible from almost anywhere in the building, this is a great place for students to come to study, play a game, read, or just to socialise with friends.
Opening times and information
The Learning Resource Centre is open to students from break time (10:55am) to 4:15pm after school, Monday to Friday and is managed by our LRC Co-Ordinator. Our LRC Co-Ordinator is always available to answer any questions a pupil might have and give recommendations/ help as needed. There is also a dedicated team of Year 7 and Year 8 Student Librarians on hand to help at break and lunch.
All Year 7 students should receive a Library induction in their English Lessons in the first few weeks of the Autumn Term. This will involve an introduction to the space, how the books are shelved and the rules for borrowing etc. Separate ‘Reading Cloud’ (Library Software) inductions will also take place within the Autumn term and during this, Students will be given their personal account details so that they can check when resources are due, chat about homework with peers, access video and other online resources and recommend titles. This cloud-based software can also be utilised at home so pupils can always be up to date with their borrowing and have access to some materials at home.
