Excellent attendance is vital if students are to succeed at A-Level. There is strong evidence to suggest that attendance lower than 95% can cost a student one grade at A-Level.
Year 12 students are expected in school throughout the day, even when they have study lessons. This means from 8.30am until 3.10pm Monday to Friday. Year 13 can leave at lunch if they are free in the afternoon. This usually equates to one afternoon per week. We reserve the right to withdraw this priviledge if it is misused.
Study lessons should be used wisely in either the library, the Sixth Form Study Centre or the silent Study Room.
It is anticipated that family holidays will not be taken during term time as we believe it is not in the best interests of the student to miss lessons. In addition attendance on result days in vital, particularly in Year 13 when university places may be at stake.
