Welcome to the Sixth Form at Hampton Gardens School. We currently have 203 students on roll in our Sixth Form.
These students study at least one of the two level three vocational courses offered by the school in ICT and Health and Social Care. The remainder of their curriculum is provided by Hampton College where students have the choice of studying a combination of additional vocational or GCE courses. All admissions to the Sixth Form are coordinated through a central admissions process operated by the Trust.
The curriculum at Key Stage 5 allows students to specialise in subjects increasingly focused on their future aspirations.
The main programmes of study on offer in the Sixth Form are A Levels, Level 3 BTEC (equivalent to A Level) and Level 2 BTEC (equivalent to GCSE) courses, with each student following the pathway most appropriate for them. Most students will study three subjects in Year 12 and 13, alongside five hours per week of supervised silent study with one hour of PSHE. In addition to this, students who do not achieve a Grade 4 in either their English or Maths GCSE (or both) must re-sit the subject in Sixth Form.
We aim for our Post 16 curriculum provision to be both aspirational and inclusive. By sharing facilities and staff across Hampton College and Hampton Gardens School we are developing a wide range of courses, appropriate to our students’ needs and interests. Joint working also ensures that we can maximise choice and offer a wider selection of subjects, allowing studnets to do niche course combinations.
