The new secondary school is a joint project between the city council and Cambridgeshire County Council and is set to open in Peterborough's new Hampton Gardens development in September 2017.

Hampton Academies Trust, which runs the nearby Hampton College, will manage the school which will serve a catchment area that includes Hampton, as well as the nearby village of Yaxley.

Plans include a 3G all-weather sports pitch and multi-use games area, which will be made available for community use. The school will have provision for 1,200 students in Years 7-11 and 300 sixth form students.
