Fire Safety Update

Recent events mean that fire safety is upmost in everyone’s thoughts. We can reassure parents that the school has been built to the very latest fire safety standards and includes a sprinkler system. In liaison with Peterborough City Council we are in the process of seeking assurances with regards to materials used in construction, as a double check.

Fire safety was part of our recent pre-opening visit from Ofsted and all procedures such as evacuation routes will be finalised in conjunction with the Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service. The school will be inspected by the Fire Officer before we open to students. Of course, an important aspect of fire safety relates to the procedures for evacuation. We can reassure you that our staff will be trained prior to opening in September and one of the very first things we do will be to practise site evacuation with the students.’
